Webquest on using units of measurement.
The idea behind this webquest is for you to become familiar with the units of linear measurement used in cellular biology.
By the end of the task you should be able to
1) know what the common units of measurement are (grade C)
2) be able to change from one of these units to another (grade C)
First task:
Produce a table with four columns headed unit, symbol, equivalent in metres and fraction of a metre and space for 6 rows for each of the units. Place the largest unit, the metre, in the top row and the smallest, the nanometre, in the bottom row.
Use the following website to write down the other units of measurement in order of largest to smallest. Also collect relevant information for the other columns. Then return to this page with your completed table.
